our mission
At its core, Pando seeks to address consumer spending injustices by empowering individuals and communities with seamless, relevant information. By identifying how daily practices support various forms of structural and direct violence, Pando aims to foster transformation and reconnection with community and racial justice values.
Our tax dollars fund state-sanctioned violence. Our daily spending is a tool used by organizations to pursue their own interests. Ultimately, our ignorance leads us to unwitting complicity. We are leveraging technology to educate and change behavior. With information, our users are empowered to embrace more just actions that lead to a more just lifestyle and world.
our goals
Pando's ambitions are far-reaching, with the ultimate goals of dismantling extractive capitalism, driving the adoption of a regenerative economy, leveraging collective spending to disrupt unjust corporate and business practices, and facilitating impactful investment and divestment decisions.
We are building a database to include all the things we spend money on, and through our dedicated research team will apply an assessment based on racial justice values to create a culture of accountability.. The Pando Assessment looks at data under the umbrella of Racial & Reparative Justice as it intersects with Gender Justice, Ecological Justice, LGBTQIA+ Justice, Indigenous Justice, Immigrant Justice, Pay Equity, Explicit Repair Efforts, Corporate Governance, Anti-Corruption, Extractive Investments, Climate Reparations, Tax and Lobby, Global Supply Chain, Workers' Rights, Gun Violence, and the Prison & Military Industrial Complex.
